I ordered a cuc from reef cleaners for a 20 gallon y'all and it was more than enough for my 29 bio cube. As for sand depth mine is about 1.5 inches deep and i have had no issues in the 7 months my cube has been running.

I have a nuvo 30 and I'll tell you what I did. 1.5 bags of caribisea pink. I didn't go with reef cleaners because they don't overnight to my area for some reason. I used liveaquira. I love LOVE the ceriths. I got quite a few of those. I also love the spiny star astraeas. They have been quite hardy. Nerites have been pretty good as well. I prefer the smaller snails in my cube because I have a huge, tight aquascape and the larger snails just don't get in there and do work. They stay on the walls.

Load up on certihs, nerites and grab a few bigger snails maybe around 5. I'd also throw in 5-10 hermits. I'd recommend the smaller ones not the large ones like the scarlet reef hermit, although I do have one of those. You will have some that don't make it very long so take that into account.

Again, this is just my opinion but I am cycling a 24g cube at my office now and I plan to do the same thing.

You get a good variety of snails from reef cleaners.....you get snails only if you want crabs you have to order those...lol. What they send in the cuc is really all you will need some will do the same thing but on a different scale do to size.

Thanks sloppyj. Are you happy with the Caribsea Fiji pink? Do the fish n cuc get in there good n does it blow around? I'm planning on using same. You dnt recommend the scarlet hermit crab?

I have no complaints about the sand. It's doesn't blow around at all, even with my MP10 in there. The only thing that moves it is a stupid tiger shrimp I put in there. He's buried one too many frags. I used the black sand in my 24g tank at work that is currently cycling. I really like it as well, almost better than the pink but I have no real experience with it other than the 4 weeks it's been in the tank with no livestock.

The scarlet i got is huge. It's just my personal preference. I prefer the smaller ones. They get around better. Although I did lose a wrasse and I'm sure that big boy had something to do with eating it.
