[Xclusive Reef]

I was looking at CUC, I am a few weeks from getting my CUC but wanted to start doing research. here is what I came up with for a 100 gallon tank:

2-3 Blue leg Kermit Crab
10 Ceriths snails
10 nassarius snails
10 Trochus snails
1-2 peppermint shrimp or Clean up shrimp ( which one)

Don't want a lot of CUC so they die when tank is clean.

snails look fine to me, I would do more like 12-15 crabs though. Wait for some algae to start before adding.

For my 150 system I have 10 hermits and it's a pretty good number Always a couple visible, and unless you have aipstasia I would go with a cleaner shrimp like a skunk instead of the peppermint.

Problem is I really don't want to have the crabs killing the snails for the shells.

Get some extra shells

They'll be too busy trying to kill eachother. you'll eventually have to refuel your clean up crew one time or another.

Well if the snail shells are smaller than the crabs, they should not fight, unless the crabs fight with each other

Yes I have 15 astrea. I ordered a hundred shells from reef cleaners to prevent the crabs killing the Snails and has worked so far.

Them crabs will kill each other anyways
