I am prepping to build a 15 gallon Fluval flex aquarium, and only have 1 10 gallon QT tank.

I have several questions about the clean up crew. I am unsure of which snails to get for a diverse crew, without needing to flip anyone over. I will be installing a lid.. only seems smart.

Second if I add them after the 30 days will there be enough food for them, and if not / so how will I know?

I will be wanting to load up with a variety of corals so I also would like it to be safe for them. Are there any shrimp that would be fun that aren't too large and would assist the CUC?

Here is my current build thread and where I am at as of right now :)

Thanks for the help!!

OH!!! my number one question is do I need to QT the cleanup crew if they are first in teh aquarium while all the fish will be in their 72 day QT

You need something in the door then to eat...or you will lose them all. Start with some cerith snails and nerite snails. Once you get some really noticeable algae, then maybe 1 turbo type snail. I have several astraea snails that can't flip themselves over... bit it is extremely rare four me to find one being assistance! The ones i needed to flip over are the ones I've usually knocked off a rock myself when cleaning. I like the astraea best... best at cleaning faster in my tank... and only a few needed.

If you are putting the inverts into the main tank and not going to put a fish in the tank for 76 days, then that can be the snail's quarantine time... AMD it should be safe for fish afterwards.
