I am in the process of setting up a Biocube LED 32. I need a CUC. Where do most of you buy, or where did you buy, your CUC?

Thanks.

I use reeftopia most of the time. Make sure that you have something for them to clean or they can starve. It is best to wait too long than get them too soon.

CUC is usually dead in 12mos. There are plenty of other ways to clean up organics. You need to research those ;Bookworm

I'm lucky we have blue and red leg hermits here. Down side is my children think they can bring all of them home.

I’ve never experienced this. I have CUC in another tank that’s been with me a looooong time. I do make sure that hermits have extra shells to move into as they grow.

How do you like the radion light on your 60?
Looooove it. So simple to use, especially with the templates available. They gave me a starting point. I used the AB+ template and tweaked it a little and things are growing and coloring up!

Clean up crews can be purchased online or from the LFS. What you want is to be selective. I avoid the packaged deals. If you want snails be sure you get ones that are hardy and do what you want. Some types just dont last. Some types only work the sand while others just the rocks. If you want crabs then dont get snails. Snails are crab food and shelter. Even more so in a smaller tank. I try to shop around and get what I need and only what I need. I find Live Aquaria has a good selection. Reef Cleaners has some good things but limited on the snail selection. Reeftopia also has a good selection.

See... that’s the thing. I like hermits cause they do a good job. I most especially like the larger scarlet hermits. They’re little work horses. But snails have their place and can get in the sand bed and on the glass. Everything has a job. I put larger shells in my 60 for the hermits as they grow but except for the larger turbo grazers, many of my snail shells are now inhabited by hermits. ;Shifty
