Culturing Pods?

Is the second light I posted suitable for this purpose?

A 600 watt led seems pretty excessive. Will most likely cook your phyto in a small jar. You could most likely use anything below 15w really. I’m using an under cabinet vanity light currently to keep my phyto going.

I didn't read the entire thread but you could skip the phytoplankton culture and just use RGcomplete or some other bottled algae concentrate to feed the copepod cultures.
Culturing your own phyto isn't required but it would be a bit cheaper.
I don't mind the added cost if it allows me to skip several steps and focus on other things.

May end up going with the strips - thanks for all your help!
Many thanks

I’ll be using a strip for mine once it shows up. (4 red : 1 blue ratio). They seem to work decentlly. Currently have a white led strip on an algae reactor I made and it’s working well so far. Just make sure to dim it down low and work your way up so you don’t cook the phyto. I cooked mine on my first try and it didn’t smell pleasant lol.
