Culturing rock... HELP!..

Brought some rock for a 33 gallon tank I'm going to buy and currently have it in a smaller tank trying to get it ready. Need help with the steps to getting it ready.. I've got step one sorted which is buy the rock lol (not funny)

hoping to grow come corals on it to put into the tank too?! Thanks guys!

It's in a smaller tank I'm getting the 33 gal in a week or two and yes I realised I wrote the wrong thing. Wanted to start getting the rock ready as it takes a while to do

ok! haha so all you need to do is put a heater, a power head and then something to start the cycle like a table shrimp. Then start tessting your water and you can track your cycle, should take about 3-4 weeks.

Do I need a protein skimmer?

For your main tank yes, for your rock cycling tank I would say no because it will remove a lot of the stuff the cycle needs.

this is what I have so far going to test in a few days the power head is at the back can't quite see it in the picture. Should I keep the lights off?

It depends on how big of a shrimp you put in, I would say a week or two.
