Found this piece of live rock washed up on local beach. After placing it in a cup of water, I noticed some polyps. Any thoughts? Cup coral or anemone?

Looks like the atlantic aiptasia. Not sure even its quite as prolific as the common version, but you probably don't want it either way.
 
It's a type of anemone, usually lives in an empty barnacle or wedges in a hole. One of the many things growing on boats, pilons and floating docks in the marine industry.

Dunno if it'll overpopulate or not. I've seen fish eat them. They grow plentiful in patches in the wild.
