Cupramine dosage + water change CONFUSION

Hi everyone
hopes everyone doing well,
i set up my QT last week ( 20 gallons long) and already have my fishes on it.
start dosing Cupramine 2 days ago and followed the instructions.
per instruction, i used 20 drops per 10.5 g and waited for 48 hours.
I didn't do any water change yet. used hanna copper checker and it shows 0.47
i have few of questions:
1-how many more drop i should add to get to 0.5 ?
2-should i do water change first ( planning to do 5 gallons tomorrow) and then dosing? also, do i have to check and dose after each water change?
3-how often water change is recommended for 20 gal qt tank?

1. I would maybe add 1-2 more drops, keep in mind that the checker's accuracy may be in play as well and your copper may be at 0.5 or above.

2. Is the tank cycled? Are you testing for ammonia? Yes you will have to check after every water change and re-dose.

3. Any presence of ammonia may require up to 100% water change. Bacterial blooms would be the other reason to do water changes. Difficult to say how often, sometimes may be necessary every day...

I don't know anything special about cupramine that I wouldn't just read of the label for dosing.

There is zero capability to distinguish 0.5 ppm from 0.47 ppm with any technology reefers use, including ICP.

Change water before correcting doses.

Does the cupermine kill the bacteria in the filter? Is there any point in putting an established biowheel in a hob when dosing copper? I have a powder blue in copper now, but my wife is about to give birth so I'm nervous about an ammonia spike when I'm in the hospital.

Seachem claims it does not impact the nitrogen cycle bacteria.
