Is it possible for some strains of Ich to tolerate and survive Seachem cupramine?

I have a sailfin tang and a clownfish in a QT. After my first round of dosing cupramine to 0.4-0.5 for 30 days my sailfin developed a bacterial infection. I treated them with Furan-2 and Metroplex for about 10 days. Good news Bacterial infection was gone, but I noticed several white dots on the sailfin tang.

How is this possible? I treated the tank for 30 days with a level of 0.4-0.5 cupramine. There shouldn’t be anymore Ich.

So now I am on my second round of cupramine approximately 27 days into second round, I see couple tiny dots on the sailfin and my clownfish has a couple dots on him.

Should I switch to a different medication?

Two thoughts: First you could try switching to a "chelated" copper like Copper Power and try one more time. Second, is it possible that the dots are not ich but Lymphocystis?

agree ionic copper is safer but sometimes has its limitations. Chelated copper like Copper power might help.
Chloroquine Phosphate is another option for ich, very effective. Without pic its hard to properly id what might be the issue,
Like @Big G said it could be Lympho which is a virus and no cure except to ride it out.

I'm curious.

How big is QT and how much did you dose?

Is it barebottom without LR and Sand, also no media that could be causing absorbtion?

Good news, the dots on the clown and the Sailfin are gone. Hopefully it won’t return. I did a 5 gallon WC and added 5 drops cupramine to maintain copper level 0.5. Also resumed metroplex.

It’s a 20 gallon long and no sand. I have been using Seachem copper test, but recently bought a Salifert test kit.
