Finally found some bleach... 200 pounds of pukani Fiji tonga and Marshall island rock in an initial bleach bath

Who else starts a cure with bleach?

I just did 180 lbs pukani at 10% bleach for a week and its good.I'm going to soak again with dechlorinator for a few days then go for the cure for a bit.

I jump started my recent cure by putting about 50 gallons of tap water in a100 gallon stock tank, along with 2 gallons of bleach. Let it steep for one week and then rinsed multiple times. This was followed by air drying for a couple weeks.

Bleach dissipates rather fast, so it is gone within a couple days anyway. Still smells though. I have used the acid bath method, the bleach method, the leave it out for a year out on the deck method, even just soaked in vinegar once.
Still get algae.
Go figure.
