Cured Dry Rock Addition to Established Tank?

I have 80 pounds of dry rock cured and cycled, had it in aerated saltwater for 4 weeks and was dosing ammonia. I have a shark tank with just a marbled and coral catshark. Just wondering how the best way to add this to the tank would be? I know that it will definitely cloud the tank (is there any way to prevent clouding?) and stress my sharks out. I was planning on doing two 40 pound structures and adding them one at a time. Can this be done or is it too risky?

Also if it were to cloud the tank, would that drop dissolved oxygen levels or make breathing more difficult for the sharks?

Why would it cloud the tank? I just added 75 pounds of cured dry rock to a holding tank and didn’t have that issue. All I did was shake it off vigorously in a bucket of saltwater before dumping it in

Bump, there shouldn't be any problems adding this to my tank right? Rock is cycled and sitting in aerated water.

The rock itself shouldn’t cloud the water. Is your sand clean? Did you rinse it before the initial add to the tank? If not, moving the sand my cloud the water. I’ve never kept sharks so I can’t answer anything about them. The rock should be fine though. If you have a place for a filter sock that will help clear the cloudiness.

I just added at least that much cured Marco rock to replace almost all my old ceramic rock in my tank. I had no real issues with it clouding the water other than the mess I made from stirring up the sand. I just rinsed it first, but that probably wasn’t even necessary since it had been soaking. I think you’ll be fine.
