I have about 30-35# dry rock that I took out of my tank about 4 months ago as it looked too crowded. I have a 20gal tank just sitting in my basement and I was thinking about throwing the now dried rock in there and letting it cook in hopes of upgrading to a larger tank in the next few months. My question--what kind of flow and heat is necessary for the process?

A powerhead and a cheap heater is fine. I took a batch of rock 35-45 lbs and soaked it in Muriatic acid first. Neutralised that stew with Baking Soda till I got a neutral PH reading. Then kept the rock in a Rubbermaid container with fresh saltwater, adding several cups of the crap my skimmer pulled out of my tank.
