I took some cured live rock out of my system a couple of years ago. Just left it outside on patio.

I want to put some of it back into system. Mostly just dusty. Nothing is living on this rock.

So I power washed the rock and then put it in a brute can with heater and power head and some smaller pieces of live rock to cure it.

Should I have gone through a bleach cleaning process before trying to cure it?

Don't think I need to go through acid cleaning.

If it was dry and left outside a good washing of dust out is all that is needed
I feel people are confused about what curing means when it comes to rock and the process of allowing dying organic matter to finish decaying.

That is what I thought. Due to the timeframe, I didn't think there was a reason to bleach it since it was finished decaying.
