Broke down the old tank when we purchased a new home before moving in. I let the rock dry out. It's been curing for the last few weeks and has cycled. Spiked and dropped back down to 0 across the board, took a little over 2 weeks. My question is should I use some of the water from the bin it was cured in? Also should I wait another month before I ad fish once I put the rock in the display tank?

Might be best to wait, add a little food everyday to get the bacterial population up a bit. I wouldn't use the old water.

^^^^ +1 ^^^^ dump the old water.
If rock is already in the tank test your water where you are on the moment.
Pellet food in a mesh filter back in the sump can bring up nutrients in order to feed the bacteria.
If your test results are good get your first fish, just remember the QT method if your get fish.

Sorry for piggy backing this thread, but the dead rock sort of applies to me as well. I recently just added a Mandarin and want to increase my pod population in the fuge. I have rock rubble in there and want to add a softball size of dead rock that I will break apart to put in. The tank is 9 month old 95 total with 100 lbs of rock and 100lbs. of sand, should I worry about a spike with the amount I'm putting in?
