Curing Dry Rock

Hello, I am new to the saltwater world and was wondering if I have to cure newly bought Pukani (DRY) and if so, what is the best method?

If your cycling your tank with this rock then no and since it’s not dead live rock you will make it live rock

Pukani has been known to leech phosphate. Before placing it in a tank I would put it in a tub for a week with saltwater, power head and a heater. I would test for phosphate. If none then i would guess its good to start your cycle in a tub or tank. If you do see an increase in phosphate it is easier to deal with in a tub rather than your display tank.

I would cure inside a tub for a month with a pump. Turn the heater up a few degrees and let the organics breakdown and bacteria build up. Curing the rock before hand will help avoid any of those nasty algae outbreaks. It will also speed up your actual tank cycle.
