I am looking to cure some dry rock from a previous tank. It has been dry for about a year and I was going to bleach the rock before cycling it but bleach is tough to come by nowadays. Has anyone tried a vinegar and water soak?

You could go this route. It might not be as quick and effective but then we all have time right now

I used chlorine to cure my rock 3 wks. (I used 2.5 gallons chlorine to 25 gallons of water brute can.)
Rock came out Super Clean
Then did a tap water flush, with a dechlorinator with a carbine filter 1wk.. Then it is going to go in to a RO water flush with a dechlorinator and carbine filter.1 week
bleach is a weak form of chlorine
Chlorine is a weak form of acid.
Dam sump is holding up my whole build;Blackeyeo_O:rolleyes:
