Curing live rock and then letting it dry

I am in the process of upgrading my tank and have ordered 50 lbs of dry rock from BRS. I plan to cure the rock but my question is if its ok then let it dry out whileI await delivery of my new tank. Yes I know that the bacteria will not survive which is not a concern as I am moving all of my existing rock and sand the day of the upgrade. Why? I will be away for a few months before the tank is delivered and will set up the new tank a week after I return.

I don’t believe it will give you a head start on anything if you just let it dry out

I agree with the above. Curing is something you do with live rock. Dry rock won’t benefit, but it won’t hurt either.
