Well absolutely you can, personally I have no future plans to leave the hobby. So I keep a bin of soaking rock just to have it. Toss some lfs live rock in there with it, definitely do a few water changes and it will without a doubt be ready for when you are.Got a random question about a year out of my dream acro tank I know acros don’t do well with dry rock wasn’t sure if I could start the cycle now in brute cans and let it go for a year till the new tank is ready
Once in a while give a toss of some food. Just need to spike it with some ammonia every now and then. Alot of people don't realize, the dry rock comes from machined land. Absolutely no idea what kindve junk that rock absorbed or even poluted moisture could've found its way in there. Best to soak it with consistent fresh saltwater to grab the junk out before using. Thanks bud couldnt find any thing online every thing was just how to cycle nothing long term
