Hi All
I have picked up a aquaone 190L tank
Tank hasn't been running in 2 months i have live rock in a bucket with the tank water and the sand in another bucket and some pieces of dryed live rock.rock is clean and bucket water clear.
I bought a 65l drum to cure the rock in with a powerhead and heater
Few questions
1.can i wash the sand in freshwater as it prob dead anyway and put it at the bottom of my 65L drum then put live rock on top.

2.waiting a few week until i get my ro/di unit can i use tap water for curing then do a full water change with ro water before going in the tank?

3.what salinity temp and water changes per week should i do?

4.after i have cured the rock does that affect the time of cycling my tank,as in faster to cycle

Thanks

I would not use tap water at all.
cured rock is just that. Your cycle time will not change and anything done fast will do no favors.
as for the sand.. your choice. Rinse good with RODI water not tap.
will this be your first saltwater tank?

1st in 15 years,ok i will order my ro unit asap,im in no big hurry so yeah no need for me to rush

Right on!
just keep temp, salinity stable and you will do just fine!
If it starts to smell bad a good water change will do wonders.
if you are looking for a good price on rodi units just hit me up

No tap. As long as flow, temp and salinity remain constant, the rock shouldn't cause any abnormal outbreaks of algae. RODI unit is a must. Will save u a ton over the long haul.
