Hello reef people,

I have like 30lbs pukani curing in a bin that I gave a 2 week bleach bath prior to cyling. I can now process 2ppm of ammonia in appx. 12 hrs. I plan to mature this rock for a few months ridding the dead matter and get the rest of my equipment set up.

My question is how often should I or do I need to dose ammonia to keep the bacteria from dying off?

Thank you

Just once, the nitrogen will continue to cycle ammonia>nitrite>Nitrate>ammonia

Something like that.

Use some LC (phosphate RX) to remove phosphate while curing and water changes.

I would think you need to ghost feed the bin every so often to add nutrients to feed the beneficial bacteria in there?

That's what I thought I understood about curing rock but I was unsure about how often.
