I have been running a sump in my fish only system for over a year. recently I had the opportunity to purchase some dead (live rock) which I would like to add to my system.. most being pukani..

Does anyone see a problem if I just try to cure it in my sump as I have plenty of space..

Thanks in advance

I'm guessing you may run into issues with nutrients if the rock wasn't prepared (cleaned) properly. I know many folks go through an entire process of acid bathing and RODI dipping rock, then letting it sit for months in warm salt water to prep it. I've run into the same issue before and I always just let the rock sit in a bucket of bleach water, usually 25% bleach to regular tap water. After a week i rinse it with fresh tap water, and then let it set in tap water for a week. Rinse it again, let it dry out for a week before rinsing it in RODI and done. Kills everything, i've never had issues with contamination, pests, nutrients, etc.
