So I just had this wild idea. Can I buy BRS rock throw it in a burlap sack and let’s say I know a place in Key Biscayne where I can tie it to something in the ocean and just let it sit there for like a month or so...

In my mind I feel like this would be a great idea not sure if it’s illegal tho

Edit: in before “Florida man gets 6 month probation for curing rock in the ocean for his aquarium”

But seriously is this a good idea? I know the perfect place to do it

Great idea. That’s what some places that sell live rock do. Rent tracks of land in the ocean and farm. But it could very well be illegal. That being said... I’d do it and say nothing to no one. Lol

I would be concerned about nuisance zooplankton hitchhiking onto my rock as well as polluted waterways from land when it rains, fertilizers, Gas, oil.

Lol...10 miles offshore the water is probably cleaner

Best way to do it is get a crab trap and put it in the trap offshore for a couple months and come back and retrieve it. You will loose the rock off shore if not, it will get covered in sand or moved. This works the best in Florida
