My old dolphin return pump is acting up. I'm thinking of picking up a new Jebao DC12000. My mixed reef tank is 225 gallons. I run two skimmers (no reason, I just have 2). Can the Jebao be set up externally, Fish Street lists it as submersible. Anyone have experience with the Jebao?

I just hooked up two for a friend on his 180 I don't think you will be able to run it out of water it turns off when it's not in water.

I have a dc 9000 on my 125. Using it for about a year. No issues at all up to this point. I run it internally

I have the dc12000, the outer seal tends to be tricky. I have never been able to stop it from leaking when setting it up externally....says you can do it, but I haven't had any luck. Good pump though...very good flow

ive only run mine internally, runs great. Ive seen many people have problems running them externally, with leaks. i would not recommend to run them externally..

I have read that they have serious leak issues. Similar pumps claim to be external and submersable but it seems as though they all eventually leak. I have a Diablo DC 10500 pumping from my basement and the Jabao 12000 as a backup.
