Curious growth on Duncan coral skeleton....

I was noticing new heads growing on my Duncan coral this morning and then noticed this on the bottom of the skeleton... I am pretty new to this but I would think that a new Duncan head wouldn't sprout off the side of the hard skeleton...am I wrong??? Thank you for your help in advance!!

Unfortunately, this is the whitest light I have at this time.. Not sure if this pic is any better. It looks to have tentacles similar to the heads on the top of the Duncan. It's just strange that its growing on the side of the skeletal structure instead of the flesh where the other heads are.

That's what I was hoping, just wasn't sure. I can see a new head forming also up where the flesh of the other heads are, so I just thought it odd that it was growing off the side of the skeleton portion. Thanks very much!

I think it’s weird too haha I’m interested to see how my Duncan ends up looking with all these heads everywhere
