Curious on stocking for 24 gallon display!

So, long story short, I’m looking for ideas on what I can add to my tank as far as fish goes!

It’s a 24 gallon display aio - I have a skimmer + fuge and do weekly 20% water changes to give a little insight on the filtration. In the first chamber I run floss, chemipure blue and a LOT of bio media

I currently have two clowns; however I’m looking to add some more. When looking at other threads I saw a lot of people recommending blenny’s, grammas, potentially hawkfish and some sort of bottom dweller like a diamond goby.

I’m curious in this sort of tank of what combination of these would you recommend or what other recommendations do you have?

Blennys are an awesome nano tank addition and have a-lot of personality, i wouldn't recommend a hawk fish cause they tend to need more space but the other fish you have listed are wonderful for a 24 gallon

I figured that as well! Thank you! Was also considering a firefish but unsure on combinations. Do you have an opinion?

Blennies, a royal gramma, dottyback (aggressive) damsel (aggressive), cardinal, watchmen goby, fire fish, possum wrasse, or clown goby comes to mind. Not all of course but they would work! Hawks might be okay, they can get aggressive in smaller tanks. If you get one no shrimps at all, they will eat them!

Yep, no plan on any shrimp!

Out of curiosity, do you think the two clowns, a midas or bi colour blenny, royal gramma, firefish and a sand dweller would be to much? I’ve seen in other threads most people recommend 4-7 in a tank this size, so I kinda figured 5 would be a perfect number. So I could eliminate maybe a firefish in this example? Or do you think those 6 would be okay

No on the midas blenny, they get pretty big and are pretty active compared to other blennies. Also blennies will fight other blennies until one jumps or dies. Best to always do just one blenny per tank. I had a lawnmower blenny attempt to murder a bi color in a 125 gallon. My starry murdered my line spot blenny in my 32 gallon when I had to move fish temporarily. Had the line spot blenny in an acclimation box but the starry still stressed him enough in the box he managed to get past the lid and jump

Starry blenny
Neon dottyback
Zebra goby
Sixline wrasse
Mollies x3
Cardinal

If you wanted just one blenny for the tank i would recommend the line spot blenny, my old line spot was peaceful loved to just perch on rocks and had a little hole he would go into to sleep at night, they also stay decently small and will do well in a nano, bi-colors are also nice

I really like my starry! He is cute and has goofy eyebrows! Tail spot blennies are smaller and colorful but my starry does a great job with algae and not anywhere near the attitude the lawnmower blennies have! Here is mine!

Diamond goby needs a larger tank than 24 gallons(55+). They also sift the sand which can disturb the rock work and any sandbed corals. Shrimp gobies are a much better alternative, they won’t sift the sand and will stay small. I’m looking at getting an orange spotted shrimp goby for my 25 gallon, but there are more shrimp goby varieties as well.

Yeah I like him because he goes from a black head to an ombre type coloration with a brown tail with white/blue dots all over. Super cool blenny!

I think we have decided to stick with our two clowns, purple firefish, royal gramma, and then maybe a bi color or starry blenny! Thank you everyone!

Sounds good! Blennies are so fun in personality too. I love my starry. Had both but I have to say the starry is cuter in my opinion lol
