I currently run my Blue LEDs for 2:30PM - 11:30PM (Total 9 hrs) and on my white LEDs for 3PM-11PM (Total 8 hours).

I've been researching that some folks run their Blue LEDs at 10-15% power throughout the night for a moonlight effect. So corals only have 8 hours without light and 16 hours of LED light. Is that too much light? What are your thoughts??

Back when I had leds, I would do a 10 hour cycle with 8 hours at my max set intensity. So they'd come on, ramp up for an hour, stay up for 8 hours, and then ramp down to off for an hour. Never did moonlight or night cycle. I like having that period of darkness.

I run mine from 12:00 noon till 10 pm

2 hour ramp up, peak for 6, and a 2 hour ramp down.

I then have 1 blue channel at 1% from 10 pm till 6 am.

I've been running pretty much the same schedule since 1988 when I started. 12 on/12 off. I started with NO T12's, upgraded to VHO T12's and finally to LED. Now that I have the LED's, there is a ~30 minute ramp up in the morning and a 30 minute ramp down in the evening. On the 120g DT, I use a pair of AI Sol blues set to 45W/65B/65RB. The frag tank uses a pair of A360W's on the same schedule set to look somewhat close to the same overall color temp as the Sol's upstairs.

I run my Radions with two hours ramp up which takes them from off to all blue to a blue white mix. They run for four hours in that mode, then slide back down to off over the course three hours. At the brightest, the blue, violet, and others are at 100%. When whites join, they got to about 40% then fade away. Intensity of all is at 100%. I keep red and green at 24% but the only come in when the whites do.
