Curly White Crusties on Frag Plugs

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone can identify what these crusty, white, curly things are on the frag plugs? There isn't any movement on them - just a calcified thing. I don't know if I remember seeing them on the frag plug initially when dipping them all in CoralRX.
