Hey everyone,

I've got a Biocube 29 and it seems like everyone has their own method for setting up the three chambers in the back.

Currently, my chambers look like this:

Chamber 1: Aquatic Life 115 protein skimmer
Chamber 2: inTank media basket (filter floss/purigen/chemipure elite) and a bag of Seachem Matrix next to it.
Chamber 3: heater and return pump.

I'm not having issues with levels or anything but I've seen some people who use Chamber 2 for an algae reactor and started thinking maybe I didn't need the Matrix. I've also read people using a small bag of Matrix in Chamber 1 under their protein skimmer and was really curious about that setup. Anyone use that and can shed some info on it?

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

No experience with it, but if the matrix would fit under the skimmer, I would suggest going that route. I think it makes sense to be able to maximize the space. I'm not sure how much good a fuge in that second chamber will do though...it's an awfully small space, so growth would be very limited. Maybe someone with experience can chime in.

So do you think that would be two bags of Matrix? One in chamber 1 and the other in chamber 2? Or do I add something else to chamber 2? Maybe move the heater there?
