I have a 90 gallon tall reef tank with soft corals and fish. I have been trying to figure out the best lighting schedule and intensity for these lights. I have tried to keep Zoe’s in this tank and they just don’t like the lighting at all. Everyone else seems fine. I just want to make sure that I’m giving what I have all they need.

Can you post some recent NO3 and PO4 test results?

What are the dimensions of a 90 tall?

How many Pro strips do you have?

How are they mounted?

Nitrate is 10 and phos is 0. The dimensions of the tank is 36x24x24. And I have two pro strips. One is 36x48 and a 24x36 and they are sitting on the top of the tank on there wire stands.

Zero phosphates is the problem.

If you're using any nutrient reducers like GFO, stop now. This is hurting your tank...corals are giving you the sign.

If you have some Seachem Flourish Phosphate or equivalent (Brightwell, etc) then start dosing a little every day ASAP. Target 0.10 ppm and test daily....dose as needed.

Otherwise, at the very least, remove the PO4 reducers in the system.....also stop carbon dosing if you're doing that too....but based on the numbers, probably not.

Your selection of corals are known as phosphate pigs, BTW.......this is the absolute wrong tank to be running as a low nutrient system, in case that has been a goal. :)

And your lights are great.....so you might even want to start a new thread since this thread was about lights. :) :) :)

Oh, and 3x2x2' is one of my favorite tank shapes too, BTW!!!
Ok so now I’m really confused! I was trying to find out how long I should be running these lights each day and the intensity of blues and whites. The reason I put the numbers on there was because the first response asked me what they where. I am running a phosban generator in my refugium. Half carbon and half phosgaurd. Am I headed in the wrong direction?

It can definitely be confusing!!! :)

More than likely your light setup is fine...there is no correct setting, per se, and those are great lights.

The nutrient situation, on the other hand....definitely take the GFO offline.
