Has anyone else noticed their Bluetooth Loop system acting up?

My main drain is a full siphon. A couple of nights ago I heard the aquarium making noise. So I got up. The return pump was running slow causing the level of the tank to drop. I have the drains set to be submerged when the pump runs at 70%. I got out my phone and opened the app. The pump was set to 70%. I dropped it to 60% and you could hear it speed up. I raised it back to 70% and everything seemed to be running normal so I went back to bed.

I come home from dinner tonight and everything is shut down. Same thing. I have to change setting then set it back to get it to work. I bought a bunch of current-usa pumps after the sells person at reef a palooza sold me on them in 2017.

I am getting ready to leave for Hawaii for 10 days. If this thing glitches while I am gone it could wipe out my whole reef.

That’s what customer service is for and they are pretty good at it. Call them and tell them. They’ll probably fix you up.

I have had them running for a year. This week was the first time this has happened and didn't think much of it. Now it has happened again makes me wonder if it is more than a one time glitch. I would call but like always with something like this it just happened at 11pm Friday night. Monday to Wendsday I work 12 hour days. I leave at 6am and get home at 7pm. Then Thursday night I leave and won't be home for 12 days. The only time I will be home and customer service will be open will be the morning before I leave.

As most people who bought current products I have had several conversations with customer service. I will give them credit they have tried to make good on their products. They have replaced several pieces of there equipment that has been defective or had to be redesigned to work as advertised.

While typing this, sitting by my tank it just cycled down again. I guess I should had bought some Jebao pumps. If they acted like this at least I could say that is what I get for buying cheap Chinese pumps. I am just so disappointed I got these. All together I have 6 of their pumps. I like keeping all the same brand. It will expensive to replace them all but I am at a point that if I keep using them I will lose my reef and it will be my fault because I kept using a brand i no longer have confidence in.

I have had the eflux wave pumps and a light hooked up to my current Bluetooth system for 2 months and my geeked out the entire week. I removed the Bluetooth hub and went back to the normal hub as I lost complete control. Everything was going on and off but the app said all was fine. I’m no longer a fan of the Bluetooth and will leave in normal for now.

I had this system up since last June. Even though the package and sells person said the pump worked with Bluetooth they didn't have the Bluetooth hub out yet. The first pump would just randomly cycle on and off. They sent me a new pump. The one I am running now so I know it is less than a year old. I just took it apart to clean. It look like rust leaking out around the motor.

put back together and it just did the same thing again. I pulled the usb wire going to the Bluetooth hub and it speed back up. Going to see if it keeps running like this. I am just disappointed with the constant issues.

Have someone keep an eye, walk them thru it over phone, in case

Wow that definitely looks like rust! How’s everything in your tank looking incase it is rust

I have between 70 to 100 coral in the tank. Most all at doing ok. I have a couple that don't look happy but that could be anything. What is scary is leaving for 12 days.

Do you have any spare pumps from before.

If you're that worried about leaving the tank, I would get an ac pump and hook it up to run while you're gone.

That way blue tooth can do whatever, and you're still going to have circulation.

I have a spare pump. I disconnected the Bluetooth and it seams to be working for now. I have 5 days until I leave. Hopefully if it runs without issue for the next 5 days it will make it until I get back. Now that you made me think about it I will leave the spare pump by the tank just in case I have to call some one.

Current emailed today asking for serial number for the pump. I will send it tonight. Pump has been running non-stop since I disconnected the Bluetooth. I think it may be another issue with the hub. I have seen on other boards where people are having lots of issues with the hub.

They sent me a new hub a couple months ago when mine was acting up. I’ve been having an issue that whenever the power goes out the lights seem to return to factory settings until you open the app and hit resume. I got home from work and found a coral pales from the high intensity it had been under all day when it became stuck. Thankfully it came back to life and was okay a few days later. We now have apex alerting me to power outages and FPL sending email alerts too. Thankfully my neighbor is awesome and runs over to my house to reset the lights whenever the power goes out during thunderstorms.

I would hate that. Mybpower goes out to much to have a device reset every time. I will see what they do. If they replace the pump this will be the third in a year. So far they have been good about fixing issues but i would rather have spmething that works than have to replace parts every few months.

Current emailed and said my warranty was approved and they are sending out a new pump. I am not sure that is rust or not and they didn't ask me to any questions. I had just included the same picture I posted here. I told them that since I unplugged the bluetooth hub the pump hasn't shut down. I think it is something wrong with the bluetooth but they did not say anything about the bluetooth. I will swap the pump out when it comes in and hope it fixes the problem. I will say that Current has been very quick to try and fix any issues. This replacement pump is replacing a replacement pump. The pump I bought was the 1900gpm the first replacement they sent the 3100gpm. It was a nice upgrade so i only have to run it at 70%. I don't know how I feel about Current. The customer service has been great but I would rather have something that I don't have to know the developer by name. My old tank is still running on a cheap Chinese pump before I got this new tank. It has never stopped running while this will be the 3rd pump on my new tank.

Got back from Vacation. I lost one fish and one clam as far as I can tell. I hooked up the new pump Current sent. It has already shut down once. I tried to call but got a recording that support is open 8-5 Pacific time. I thought calling at 4 Eastern would had worked. o_O So I left a message. If they don't get back today I guess I will have to deal with this next week.

Just wanted to chime in as well.
I bought 2 of the 48" to 60" Current Orbit IC lights , 3 of the 2,100 eflux wave pumps, 3170 GPH controllable dc flow pumps and two of the tank mountsfor my 90 gal tank. The equipment is now less then 4 months old. Have 2 of the 3 wave makers go out and the light controller has a mind of it's own. It will turn the lights on and off every 4 hours. I did not change anything other than clean the wave makers and factory reset the controller to try to get it to work again. No luck in getting a response from Current USA via phone or email. I feel like I made a bad investment for it to go out as quick as it did.

Not that I don't feel the same as you about choosing Current but they have been quick to try an fix my equipment. They replaced my 2100gpm pump with the 3170gpm I think because they had forgot to send out the replacement. A week later I contacted them to say I didn't get it yet and they said sorry but we are sending a up grade. The powerhead kit comes with a controller that can sync the pumps but if you want feed mode to work both powerheads and return pump you had to have a light controller even if you didn't have light. When I called support trying to get all my pumps to go into feed mode they ended up sending my a light controller, hub, and power supply for free. When the Bluetooth came out I bought one. Once again my pumps didn't work so they sent me out a new pump hub. When my pumps started freaking out again they just sent me another return pump and hub. So while I hate that I don't have a reliable system I can not complain about their support. In my case they have stood behind their product the best any company could.

I would suggest to go to support on their web page. Enter your information in the forum and it generates a support ticket. I got a response asking for the number off the cord. I sent a picture and the next response I got was a new pump is on the way. When I talked to support for one issue after a few minuets they couldn't figure out the problem. They said they were going to transfer me to the person who designed the system. His name is Ike. He is the one who sent me the up grade along with all the light equipment to make my system work. He is also the person you see at RAP and MACNA promoting the equipment. You may call and ask to speak with him. I hope this helps.
