Current USA DC return pump setup help.

Hey guys I’m sure this is probably a dumb question. I am running an AC pump on my Waterbox 70.2 but was finally able to upgrade to a DC pump. The one on there now is full blast and underpowered. However the new one should be good to go. It’s the Current USA rated for 1900 gph. My question is, how do I set it up? Like I know how to hook it to my system and the Bluetooth. But do I open my gate valve fully or close it fully? Adjust the flow of the pump and then the gate valve? What’s the best way to calculate percentage of the flow?

I fully open the valve on the return line then use the variable speed control to match the flow coming into the sump. I don't know the exact volume I'm running, I just tinkered with the down flow valves to reduce the noise then adjust the variable speed of the return pump accordingly.

Ok great! So basically the opposite of the AC.
