I have a 40 gal. breeder mixed reef tank along with a 20 long sump that I built and did all of the plumbing for myself. The sump has a Rio pump that seems to be slowing down now that it is a year old and I have never had a nice wavemaker system. I have the AI Hydra 26 and love it but can not afford their new Wavemaker system. I began to look and have liked all of my past products from Current and I was just wondering what everyone’s opinion is in the Current eFlux system for someone who is on a budget. Thanks!

If you plan on connecting them together there's a lot of wires and plug boxes. I have no direct experience but from what I gathered...

I looked into the whole system... The return pump, the lights, and the powerheads. Each has a wire(s) that connects to its box, then to another box, from what I could make out.

People have said the lights have a hard time with SPS corals but can do softies. You may need two lights if one doesn't cut it. The return pumps I've heard are ok but the feed mode doesn't shut it off, it slows it down, but the pump didn't have any problems otherwise. The powerheads can have up to 3 connected. Two can be adjusted while the third is a constant flow.

This is a relatively newer system so longevity isn't known. I do know that multiple websites run huge deals on Current products a few times a year.

Why not just keep your lights, because they're better than Current lights, get a cheap and reliable return pump (Fluval or Sicce), and use whatever powerheads you can afford?

What are those websites that run huge deals on Current products? I am interested in there powerheads.

I had the light , run
I still have the wavemakers , I like then but theres a power wire to the "hub" and the wire from the wave maker to the hub.
However when I try to put the in surge mode I can't get them to sync.

No experience with the dc pump

Hi. I've got the entire LOOP system minus the Bluetooth connection box (why spend $99?). I cannot speak to longevity as my lights are only a year old and the pumps are only about 4 months old. (That's why I got the Current USA products - could keep adding a little at a time as I had $$$). It is a bit of a rats nest of cables if you don't lash them all down... but love the one-button-feed mode on the pumps (cuts the wavemaker off and reduces the return to 30% of what you programmed.)

I had lights and wave pumps on a nano...

Lots of wires!! Like way too many.

All the features on the lights are ok, I never used them beyond ramp timers.

I had two 24in lights over a 20 long and they would grow montipora slowly.

Never used the return pumps.

Downside to the wave pumps was they would spin backwards sometimes

I have the wavemakers, the return pump and the blue tooth controller.

They are all super quiet work horses. Been running them on my 40b since may. The wave maker was on my previous tank before that. Have no complaints.

Super easy to control from my phone.

I just want them to make a schedule ability for the wave pumps. Would love to have it change up a few different times a day.

When i asked them their plans awhile back through email, they said pump modes and battery back up were up coming, gave me no date when to expect though.

Thanks for the input! What size of both are you using?

I have the marine 72" comes with the dual lights, I am ordering the bluetooth hub and 2 wave makers. How hard was it to set your phone to the system? I have read that its still buggy, but love the fact I wont have to unplug my wave makers at feeding time. Have you had any issues with the loop app?

Another question if you dont mind, with the loop you can either run 3 wave makers and zero pumps or 2 wave makers 1 pump?

LOL sorry another question I have the remote loop system will the hubs still work? If so I can run 2 pumps through the remote and the 3 wave makers through the loop app.

I am curious as the below picture shows that you can hook up the wave maker and pump manifold hubs
