Good morning all my fellow R2R peeps!

I am currently using the non-Pro Current Marine LED lights on my DT (135g, 24" deep) and I am looking to switch to this new Current IC Loop system. I like the light, but I know it doesn't light up a taller tank for things like plants and corals on the sand, plus I'm intrigued by the new controller system they are developing.

I have taken the plunge and pre-ordered the 72" light and it's going to come with the powerhead controller and a powerhead.

My question is, is anyone that is a vendor/seller associated with this sight going to have a chance to evaluate this product in the next month or two?

Since MACNA is in the books, was Current USA there at all? If so, did anyone take some time to take a look at their new IC Loop system coming out?

I am curious about their new light (I currently have the Pro). Pumps are a nice feature too. I've asked a lot of questions about my light here but you might be the first one to get to test it as the brand is not nearly as popular here as some of the others.

If that is the case then I might have to do an unboxing/setup thread. Then start documenting my settings and corals progress.

I've been hoping that someone on here that has a LFS or works for one might have had the opportunity to get an early look at the setup.

I enjoy a lot of the manual part of taking care of my tank but the lights/powerheads could definitely be one thing I'd like to deal with less, rather than more and concentrate on other things so if this setup works, I'm going to be a really happy reefer.

I looked a the system and the light.(light mostly;)) The light is vastly better than the V1 version(non pro) I have. a lot more intensity, a lot more penetration, yes a little less spread because of the lenses so the top of the tank and higher rocks may have a bit of trouble. As for the system it's pretty straight forward, Id say itll just be a test of how well it lasts.

How do you like the pro version?

It's very easy to setup - I had one issues with my control panel going bad but they replaced with right away. My LPS/Zoas seem to love it but Im not getting very good color out of any SPS - that would also be a parameters thing though. You can control the blues or whites, but not reds, greens and so on like a couple of the other units out there.

For sure. Any recommendations on going about that? It will be my first time switching lights.

I had planned on doing that second part for sure. I have one of the phone app lux meter programs, but I know they have their inaccuracies.
My plan is to get readings from my current lights just before I switch them out for the new one, then get the new one setup to just below that and ramp up slowly from there since the new light is so much stronger than my non-pro lights.

excellent. But.... the red lux meter in my thread is $13.99 and as accurate as my $500 one. the lux meter on the phone in not accurate. i tested 14 of them with my phone and I pad and android tablet. Im a photographer and do television lighting in los angeles.

I actually have the red lux meter in my wish list on Amazon among a few other things, just haven't placed the order yet. The light isn't supposed to be available for delivery until 10/3 so I have a little time. :)

Is anyone using this light?
Its still the current orbit marine pro at its heart if that helps.
New lenses for a bit more punch. More total power than a kessil 80 mainly because it sits on the tank. Metered at 12inches same intensity.
