I just started a tank with the new 36" orbit marine pro IC. Planning to grow lps and softies. Currently sitting on tank but may mount above

Interested in what light schedules you guys are running these lights at? I am planning to start with 40% blue, 15 % white/green/blue

I run mine at 100% blue, 70% white, 30% RGB. On at 10:30. Begin ramp down at 8:30.

You should call them and ask. They might actually give you one since you just bought the light.

Well I don't think they will, I ordered the light from a separate website and the wavemaker was actually discounted to only $75 and I got the entire setup (the blue hub as well as a separate remote and display). I'm happy with my purchase, it was just the wrong time.

thanks for the info! i am going to do the same but start with 30% white and ramp up from there over a few weeks

I have these and have had them for a month now. These lights are really only good for smaller tanks (i.e short water depth) or mixed reef tanks with soft coral. Most LPS and SPS will not get high enough PAR rating to really thrive. It totally depends on what your plans are for coral long term. If you look to add a large variety of coral, these probably are not the best option. Sad to say but I regret the purchase as I now am looking to upgrade lighting.

I have a shallow tank and will be growing your basic stuff like GSP, Xenia, Palys/Zoas.

Because I've only just recently cycled this tank Im running lower settings than usual to keep down on the algae growth. I run 80% blue. 10-25% white. Less than 10% red and green, unless you dont mind algae growth(Red being the worst). I will say these lights are not the worst thing on the market, but just definitely not a light you want to run standalone without some T5 lights if you want to do any hard corals. The one's you have now should be fine(as in they will survive and grow at a moderate rate), but you'll notice if you ever upgrade how much better the coral could look and grow.

Again, like my other comments it completely depends on your goals and expectations. The 48-60" strip and loop will run you $200. Save and put it towards two mid-high tier lights.

I am leaning towards 2 hydra 26 or kessil 360x

Both super options! They put out double up to triple the amount of Par, not to mention equal distribution of the light. Well worth the price if you plan to be in the hobby long term

Yea. I love the concept of the orbits but I really dont want to have my hands tied as far placement or type of coral to get. Do you know if the new hydra 32 are significantly better than the 26 or are 26 good enough? Also will 2 be enough on 48 inch tank?

two lights is plenty for 48". The rule of thumb for most of these lights is 1 per 24". # of lights is based on length, type and quality of light is based on depth (How deep your tank is). The difference between 26 and 32 honestly isnt like ground breaking or like crazy different. If you find used ones online and the 32's are maybe less than $50 more than certainly worth. But if the price difference is greater than that then just look at a better light.

What percentage of colors do you use. ? I am struggling too. I have the loop and it sits right on the tank. I think the coral I list was from cooking them. I turned way down. Now I don’t know if it’s enough ?
