I was wondering if anybody has tried this light i am looking to replace the stock lighting on my 28 gallon nano cube im curious to find out if it is any strongero_O than the stock and how good the quality is i only plan on having lps in tank.

It depends on the type of jbj cube. They came with two or three variations advanced inter med and basic I believe. The advance is pretty bright.
The orbit is the same. V1 or V2. The new V2 has Llittle lenses. A V2 is not as bright as an advanced jbj.

It is the 28 g cf quad is that consider advanced. thanks for reply

Because i am afraid my only other option is a kessel and not really wanting to spend that much money right now the main reason i want to get rid of stock lighting is to reduce heat problem i have to keep a fan on it constantly to keep temp right just looks ridiculous:(

For the type system that you would like to setup, you will need to spend some money. That you looked at the AI prime hd?

Thanks for reply i checked that light out i am really considering it seems to be a radeon without the price......

Ok yours is not led. Not sure you DIY skills.
And budget is always a thing. Do have a hood and do you want to keep it? I liked mine.

But you can get kits to fit that hood. I think you need 12 in or so.
A used ai sol would fit in there too. Pull the lenses.
Not sure of your budget either.
A black box led is prob the cheapest but mounts a little high over the tank. No hood I would go SBreeflight for those.
They also offer a nano puck but I don't know the specs. If it would have enough spread.

The small current orbit used or the older version. NO little lenses.
Are pretty cheap on the eBay and two with a controller would give about what the quad cf is.

I am fairly diy and yeah I could easily buy one of them kits and put it together but for some reason I can't keep temp down with the hood on unless fan is on I've tried keeping lights off at night and hood on the temp still raises then I start thinking we'll the pumps causing the heat 1 for skimmer and 2 for return so I just ran one return with no lights and hood temp still climbs the temp in my house stays at 71 degrees but when I remove hood temp will stabilize at a comfy 78 with all pumps running so yeah I like the hood but it looks as if it is gonna have to go and I have a few pc fans laying around but thiers nothing really small enough to fit [emoji28] Lol I could go on for days.

yup. the cf get HOT. I had the Advanced Led. A bit easier it sill had a large heat sink kept it warmer.

If he stuffed a prime in there would he get the coverage he needs? its like a 3 or four in deep hood i belive.

A used ai sol white blue w no lenses would work. I have those now. still be enough to give CRAZY high par.

The Prime Hd would do very well. The new Prime HD is 24 x 24 coverage, and the nice thing is that one can take the light they are not using and considerate it in another color to increase the intestacy.

Yeah I really like that light you can't beat it for the price. Thanks alot for bringing that up I've had tunnel vision for that current orbit light some much that I just ignored every other light because they r pretty much pricey but all I have to do is add another 50bucks and have a very high quality light. Minus the hood lol[emoji1]

The current light did well for me, but my corals were brown and dying that I had. When I upgraded the corals came back to life, and you have to figure by the time you spend the money of a additional light the might get you somewhat there and then upgrade again. As you stated you mi-swell save a spend a little more and a light that you are only replacing once. I will be getting a AI Prime HD for my sump soon

Well several months later I finally have the prime HD and wow it is awesome. Thanks for input this solved alot of problems.
