I purchased these lights about 3 months ago for a new tank setup, and they are working great. Definitely recommended, but you also get what you pay for. If you're looking for a set that's cheap and easy for newer hobbyists, then you can't go wrong.
Programming is very simple, yet the options are definitely limited. You can control the daylight hours, but that's about it. The ramp-up/ramp-down of the lights is determined by your daylight setting. You can't control how long the ramp lasts. You CAN, however, jump to any light setting you want at any time by using the remote. You can also control the light spectrum using RGBW controls on the remote.
I purchased the 48" dual-lights for use on a 100 Gallon Tank. I decided on this dual-light to compensate for the 24" deep water. So far, the lights have been doing great. Running soft corals and LPS, which all do fine. I cannot comment on SPS yet. I do have a Birds Nest Coral growing, but that's a pretty easy coral to keep for beginners like me, so I'm not sure that counts as a definitive "SPS-Ready" recommendation.
