So I've decided to make the switch to LED lighting for my 29 gallon biocube (lid removed) from the T5 light fixture I currently use. The two options I've been looking into the most are the Current USA Orbit Marine Aquarium LED and the OceanRevive Arctic T247. Does anyone have opinions on either of the two? I've read countless reviews but need something to sway me one way or the other. Or, are either not worth it and should I go for something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated!:)

I have both of these lights actually. The Arctic T247 is very bright and has built in timers. I used it on my 30 gallon marinland cube before upgrading tanks to the 120 fish only I have now with the Current USA Marine IC.

I never could get the color to look right on the T247 but it worked well. I really like the Marine IC lights for the true sunrise/sunset and much more spectrum settings to play with. And you can get a storm going in the tank if you want.

I have 5 OR units. They’re pretty well made. I’ve had water shoot up onto and into one unit and thought it was toast. It still works. I thought it was fried but still works perfectly.

They’re a nice entry level unit and look sleeker than the other options, and they grow and sustain coral well, IME.

When I run them, I run blues at 100% and whites at 24%, copying the ab+ schedule the best that the light can handle. You can mimic a T5 look with less whites at like 10%, but the whites help with growth at 24%.

I recently upgraded to Reefbreeders but I have no complaints with the OR units at all.

Thanks for the responses! I ended up going with the SB reeflights sbox which had a ton of great reviews and just installed it last night!

Are you happy with the upgrade?
