Curve 5 bubble plate mod

Im pretty new here and see a lot of cool DIY projects flying around so I thought I'd post one of mine I recently did.

Saw some pictures of the JNS Skimmer (you will know it as aquamaxx) with its tiny acrylic cones and thought that would be a pretty simple mod for the Curve 5 on my setup so I went about designing a new one to print.

Here is what I got

Well it seems to skim better but to be honest it didn't skim much before anyways coz I'm running fishless at the moment

Will let it run for a week or two more and get an idea of how it pulls and then put the old plate back and see what I get then.

I do believe it skims a bit better though.

Does it skim better?
Do you still run it at the same water level?
Does it reduce the issue with micro-bubbles?
Is it quieter?
How did you remove the old plate to install it?
Did you even remove the old play, or does it sit on top?
Plan on sharing the plans for this?
Are you selling them?

I believe it does skim better, got a shop owner my side who is testing one out and he told me he does believe it skims better.

I've been running water at the same level and it has been skimming well. Remember that my definition of well is not great right now due to a fallow tank with low nutrients but it is skimming!

Never really had an issue with micro bubbles before the mod but there aren't any now.

My curve 5 was always quiet.

This plate completely replaces the old plate and you literally just push the screw threw the hole in the new plate and twist the plate with the screw into position on the skimmer reaction chamber.

I want to ensure it is a solid design before I share any plans for it.

Won't be able to sell to anyone as I'm based in South Africa

Thank you so much...should have known better about the plate as I've taken mine apart and cleaned it too many times. I let my excitement get the best of me. Last questions, soon as you feel comfortable sharing the plans are you going to post them? Where will we be able to find them?

Man, that looks awesome. Any chance you could PM me the file so I could have someone in the UK 3d print this for me? I have the curve 5 and always feel it's a little weak
