Hello everyone
Ive been in the hobby for about 2 years now and have been contemplating a custom tank build. I have 2 150 gallon tanks now one a 150 tall and a 150 half moon. I have some larger tangs that are starting to out grow the 150 half moon . So I was thinking about doing a 450 gallon L shaped corner tank with a drop off. Any comments things I should be aware off I've built a few tanks but nothin of this size. I have a few drawing.

I just finished building 175 gallon drop off but not a corner drop off I can tell you the issues I dealt with is don't try to cut the glass if it needs to be an L shape yourself have it Factory cut on a water jet it will be stronger and use radiuses if you do have to make cuts no sharp corners try to use a steel frame and lots of support another issue I found was setting the glass on the bottom piece of glass cause stress and cracked it due to different water weights

That was some issues I had thought about. Luckily I work for a commercial glass company and have access to an engineer( who is giving me a good safety factor for the project). I was going to do a steel frame and try to do euro bracing for the top and weld an aluminum frame for the bottom 2x2x1/8in angle.

Slow to start here still waiting on my engineer to finish drawing up my tank. The tank I'm replacing is starting to get out grown.

Going to have to watch this thread, sounds like an awesome build!

Some of the equipment and plumbing parts came in over the week. I'm using eshopps eclipse L over flows only one came in:(. I'm gonna give vertex a try I ordered there Omega 180i for one of my skimmers. And my return nozzles came in 3/4 loc-line.

Getting the steel cut up for the stand. I went with 2x2x3/16 steel tube. Hopefully get it finished today and start some welding tomorrow.

Stand is all welded up. Now to figure out how I want to paint it. I thought about doing the roll in bed liner or an epoxy but I'm not sure
