Looking to build a custom frag tank for myself using 3/8 glass. Dimensions will be 80x18x10. Going to go with an injection mold on it with the silicone at 3mm thick. Just want some opinions about the glass and silicone thickness. Figure with one about 9in of water in it your looking at only 56 gallons so I double I'll see any bowing with 3/8 glass. 1/2 glass is not an options right now. Thickest I can get at a great price is 3/8.

Its a rather shallow tank so u might get away with it. Good bracing is key. Id still push it to 12 or preferrably 15 mm glass

I wish I could get 15mm glass at a good price. Problem is my buddy Mike owns his own glass company and really only deals with 1/4 glass in large bulk, which I get for $6 sq ft. He just received an order of 15, 96x60 sheets of 3/8, that I can get it at $9 sq ft. Up until now I was doing all my custom builds out of 1/4 only because 3/8 from his supplier was way too expensive. I would love to push it to 12in high, as my last 2 frags tanks were 40x24x12 but going rimless with the 3/8 glass and only having it filled to a max height of 9.5inch, I think 10 is the best I can do.
