Custom stand for my 5526

Was trying to sell my 5526 but have decided to keep it. Two of the door’s hinges have stripped out and I’d like to attempt my own custom stand.
A couple years back I remember seeing a custom stand for a peninsula tank that had marble countertop around it acting a a bar ledge. Does anyone know where that thread is? (It may not have even been on R2R, but I think it was)

Kinda. The one I had seen had the marble only around the edge. Basically the bottom of the tank sat on the stand and the 1/2 inch thick marble went around that so it concealed the bottom 1/2 inch of the tank.

I think you'd be further ahead with the marble bottom. Fish splash, spills happen - and it's a lot easier to clean up with the tank physically on top of something (unless it's right to the edge).

I may end up going that route. It’d be easier to build too since I wouldn’t have to mount/brace it the same way. Thanks.

Just speaking from my own experience and umpteen spills that ran down the side of the tank, etc. (and I'm not even including the ones from the fish!) I suspect that a solid top would give you a lot more tank support as well.
