Custom sump - A complete waste of time

Please read here before posting. Outside comments are not permitted per R2R's feedback forum policy. This is to allow the buyer and seller to have a streamlined conversation and hopefully come to a mutually satisfactory resolution in a negative transaction. Went throughout the whole process trying to get Synergy to build me a custom sump, just to be told that they won't do it. Apparently my money isn't green enough for them. I'll be taking my business somewhere else.

I am pretty sure I know who this is and I will not use your name publicly unless you want me too or you do so yourself.

First off I just want to make it clear that we are a small company and reserve the right to decide what products we build. Unfortunately we cannot build everyone's dream sump. Custom sumps can get very complex and require a lot of time to build.

As for wasting your time, you first came to us and wanted a sump similar to our SS-28, but modified slightly. No problem we can do that. Then after numerous emails you totally changed your mind to a "cube" style sump. We are not making these sumps at this time for anyone. If you look on our custom sump thread you will see where I posted that we are NOT doing custom cube sumps at this time. This was even before your initial contact with us.

I feel it is only fair that the reef2reef.com community know the truth since you have decided to leave out the facts about you post. If you have any further questions we are more than willing to answer them as we always do.
I am really amazed that someone would really start a thread like this before contacting us about why we would not build your sump.

Thats correct, the answer that I was given was that would be custom and a starting price, no problem, then it was suggested that I go with the SS-22, which I don't want that was why I asked for custom.

Then after numerous emails you totally changed your mind to a "cube" style sump.
I asked to go with a "cube" style on the second email, I wouldn't call that numerous. I changed my mind/design in order to try to persuade you to build a custom one for me. I have only sent you a total of three emails. I still don't think that could be anywhere near numerous.

My first email was sent to you on 3/14 and was replied back to me on 3/17. My cube style request email was sent on 3/18 and replied on 3/18. I was not told in the email that you would not be making cube style sumps anymore. I was told to that you would need a drawing in order to quote it. I was not told that you weren't making cube style sumps. Had I been told at that point I wouldn't of have wasted my time creating a drawing for something that you wouldn't build. Your post about not making custom cube style sumps anymore was posted on 3/18. I apologize for not seeing it. If I had I would not of have taken the time to create a drawing.

I too feel that the reef2reef.com community should know the truth, that is why I have posted the facts.

Why should I contact you to beg and plead for you to make me a sump? I asked for one, from the emails (3 of them) it seemed ok, then I spent a week trying to get everything done so that I could get a quote and you said no.

I have removed posts by those not involved in the transaction as outside posts are not allowed. I have also removed one post with email correspondence posted.

Per the feedback forum rules:

Outside comments will not be allowed by people not involved in the issue. This forum is not for rants and raves and venting. Post only facts about transactions. Any outside post from anyone who has nothing to do with the matter will be deleted by moderators. Posting of emails, text messages and private messages are prohibited.

VanillaGorila and Synergy Reef have talked it over and have made amends. We really do take pride in all of our customers and respect their opinions. This is just one build that currently we are not taking orders for. Hopefully VanillaGorila can post as well to allow closure to this.

Yes, we have talked and are good now. It was all a bit of a misunderstanding, it just so happened that at the same time that I was requesting to have a cube sump made, Synergy decided to not make that style sump. Communication could of have been better from both parties.
I do not know, but my feeling is that they will start making this style sump again soon. They seem to be in demand lately.

Glad to hear that this all worked out agreeably in the end. If neither party objects, I'll go ahead and close this thread. If either party has a reason to reopen it, please send me a PM and I'll be happy to do so!
