I have never done any acrylic work so I was a bit worried. I found it to be very easy as long as you have the right tools. A good table saw with a long fence for cutting long pieces. A router table, I incorporated mine into the extension I built on my table saw. You must have the skill to make a really straight cut with a table saw, a skill I did not possess at the start of the project but figured it out by the end.

Dimensions are 34 x 15 x 15. Water flows from filter sock chamber- skimmer chamber/reactor chamber- bio media chamber (k1) - refugium - return.

I still have to add heater holders, probe holders, dosing line holders and cord holders but other than that it is complete. Also adding a diy led strip to the lid of the fuge. It will be attached to the lid, stood off the acrylic about 1 inch to keep heat off the acrylic. Very happy with the finished product.

If i had those skills like you , i have my own business doing that , nice job and professional presentation [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]

Looks nice. Make one 24x15x15 jist like that then send me the bill...[emoji16]

Thanks for all the compliments. It does take allot of time. Once you build one, you quickly realize why the really nice ones cost so much money.

what size Acrylic you use? did you use Weldon 3 to glue it?

You need a triple chip blade. Irwin marples. They run around 65$ I believe for a 10". The guy I bout the acrylic from had a cnc router, but said the tablesaw actually did a better job.

So I decided to build my sump instead of buying one because I think I will get a better product for cheaper. I need suggestions of things I should do to get the best result on acrylic sump.

How big are you building it? I did some more work to mine. Will post pics tomorrow. Added fuge light, heater holders, probe holders, and some other stuff.
