custom tank

so my wife and I want a six foot tank but our concern is it fitting. we are thinking a custom build that sits in the corner and goes down three feet down on wall and then three feet the other way down the other wall. are there any drawbacks that anyone can think of to a system like this? also when picking fish would we look at the length as 6 feet or as three since it would have that angle in it? like for a tang that needs a long tank to swim in

If the fish can move 6 feet then I'd say it is considered 6 feet.

I can't think of any draw backs (but I haven't ever had an L shaped tank).

Only thing I can think of that you might have to consider is that flow might be restricted at the turn. You may need some extra powerheads. Very cool idea for the tank! Please post pics when you get it!
