I'm looking into getting a 180-210 gallon tank in the near future, but they are expensive and used ones are kinda hard to come by at the moment. My dad is a huge wood worker and loves to build things and saw a video online of a 210 gallon custom wood tank. Now it's for a freshwater tank, but it was built with the same style overflows and such that we use on our reefs. I was curious if there are any unforeseen issues that could arise from doing a tank like this? If we did one it would probably have 3 panels, front and two sides. Would a plywood tank be able to hold upwards of 300 pounds of rock and sand and water? Questions like that?

Don't know if this is a common thing lol. Thanks for the help.

IMO for what I know this need to be engineered due to the pressure process.
Also many experienced hobbyist wouldn't touch the hands on it as it will always be a big risk on leaks.
If already a glass tank or acrylic can spring a seam which are much better designed I wouldn't think about what a wood tank could do.
180 or 210 is a lot of water.................... A LOT when it's on the floor
