I have a 13.5g tank and want to add some zoas and maybe other corals. I see in one video the person is cutting the corals off the disc and adding them to the live rock. In others, folks seem to just put the disc with the frag on it on top of the live rock. I guess the corals will overgrow the disc and start to grow on the live rock? I have one small frag/disc with a zoa on it, but it keeps falling off the live rock as the hermits and snails crawl around up there.

My zoas grow over the disk in no time so I never take the disk off. For other corals I do because I don't like seeing the disks much.
You can use some of glue or putty (I use both) to attach to the rock and then snails won't bulldoze it.
