Cut My Flamethrower?

Some folks may have seen this is my Member Tanks post. My FT Chalice is a good 3in across but still just 2 eyes. Will fragging a piece make it produce more eyes? Can I take a piece from the edge or do I have to frag an eye?

yes...one of my chalice was 2 eyes only with 2 inch in size.
Once it decided, poped 13 eyes all at the same time.

Leave it alone,eyes will sprout eventually, if you spot feed it,it might make it sprout some eyes

I would just like to have a frag of that chalice,let alone 1 that nice!

Mine was the same way and I cut it up all the frags made it and all put on eyes

I vote to leave it. That's a nice piece! Mine sprouted an extra eye and I cut it. Big mistake. Should have left it alone, the new eye never survived.

I would buy a frag w/ no eye . Just don't really see the rim too good .

A chalice with no eyes has a reduced chance of living. That being said it can make it, I bought a tyree pink watermelon with no eyes and it started sprouting four eyes with in a week. I wouldn't cut it though, just wait it out and then sell me a piece:wink:

Leave it. I have a really good friend with a Darth Vader chalice that has to be close to four inches with just two eyes. He wont cut it. They will pop eyes out when it is ready then you will have a butt load of them.

Thanks folks. I plan to leave it. The rim is growing down now and is difficult to see. I moved tanks and use crushed coral in this tank so it is not squished down even with the sand...
