Just noticed my clown has what looks like a cut or puncture wound. The wound is bumpy.

She was eating fine and looks fine... I have a kole tang, melanurus wrasse, and a long nose hawkfish in my tank. Maybe the kole tang is the culprit? not sure. They all get along fine when I watch them...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That actually does look like a tang laceration to me. Tangs rarely come after clownfish— but I’ve seen a clownfish protect its territory to a tang only to have the tang retaliate and try to slash it. I’ve not heard of this happening often but that definitely looks like the culprit.

When you say “was” eating fine, is it no longer eating?

If not I would treat for infection in a QT with the “trifecta” (kanaplex, metroplex, and furan 2) with a bath in an acrflavine product first. If the behavior is normal and no redness is observed I’d leave it alone for now.

Quick update: Fed today with selcon and she was eating normally. However I noticed another cut on her other side that looks the same, but it's not bumpy. Also, the old wound does look to be red, but actually looks a lot better than last night.

I will keep watching closely, but I don't think I can ever take the tang out without destroying all my corals in the process... :(
