Has anyone ever cut bulkheads because they were too long? I've got 6" for plumbing behind my stand. My plumbing measures 6.5". My bulkheads are at least 1" too long. Does it effect strength? Or I have a bushing that can be trimmed also. There's no moving the stand. It's one solid piece.

If you have a 90 coming off the bulkhead you could possibly try to use a street 90 to save yourself some space. The problem with cutting the bulkheads or fittings is that you will not be inserting the pipe as far as it is recommended to go in when gluing. Also I would be worried that cuttin the bulkhead would mess up the threads.

The first pic is the sanitary tee (would like to cut the bushing), 2nd my overflow box(bean animal overflow), 3rd is the stand. It's a peninsula tank the stand has a cutout in the back for plumbing to go through, but I need about one more inch. There is a piece of 1" pvc connecting the bulkhead to the bushing/sanitary tee.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, couldn't you just replace the 1.5x1.5x1.5 'T' with a 1.5x1x1.5 'T' and eliminate the reducer bushing ???

Cheers, Todd

One more option for you ??? How about a 'Y' with a 45* to reduce distance out/away.

Cheers, Todd

+ 1. That or scrap the sanitary T and use a standard T. The bushing should fit all the way into the standard T
