Hello,
I will be transferring the contents of my tank to a new shallow reef, I therefore have to decrease the size of some of the live rock so the acropora colonies growing on this live rock do not stick our of the water
. I plan on doing a straight cut across the base or bottom of a large piece of live rock which on the top is completely encrusted with multiple sps colonies. The rock is approximately 6x5x 8 ". Its the piece with the pink lemonade coral. I'm hoping to cut off the bottom 2 or 3 inches. I have a hack saw and do not think this will work as I tried sawing a small sample piece of this reef saver rock and barely scratched the surface.
Does anyone think one of those handheld corded tile saws would do the trick? I'm reluctant to take a hammer and chisel to it as I do not want to cause damage to the coral.
ANY advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
